A. Geographic Location Information (Optional)

If you grant location permission (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION / ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION), AirClock retrieves your approximate coordinates strictly to:

• Calculate astronomical solar elevation, azimuth, zenith angle, and daylight phases in real-time.
• Fetch hyper-local weather conditions (temperature, humidity, UV index, wind speed) from open weather data providers.

Note: Location data is processed ephemerally. You can also use AirClock without granting location permissions simply by searching and pinning cities manually.

B. Local On-Device Storage

The App utilizes local encrypted key-value storage (Hive) stored securely on your physical device to remember:

• Your list of pinned world cities and home city preferences.
• Custom Smart Alarms, Multi-Timers, Interval routines, and Pomodoro cycles.
• Visual settings (Celsius vs. Fahrenheit, 12h vs. 24h format, analog clock dials, and language preference).

This data never leaves your device and is deleted automatically if you clear the app data or uninstall the application.

🔑 3. Device Permissions & Justification

AirClock requests only the minimum necessary permissions required for core chronometry and meteorology functionality:

• INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: To fetch live weather forecasts and render advertisements.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To alert you when your alarms, countdown timers, or interval sets complete.
• SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM & USE_EXACT_ALARM: To ensure your morning wake alarms and timers trigger precisely at the configured millisecond, even when the device is in battery-saving Doze mode.
• VIBRATE & WAKE_LOCK: To vibrate the device and momentarily wake the screen when an alarm fires.
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: To reschedule your active alarms automatically if your device restarts.

🤝 4. Third-Party Service Providers

To deliver weather forecasts and support the free availability of the application, AirClock integrates trusted third-party SDKs:

A. Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads)

AirClock displays banner and non-intrusive interstitial advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google may collect and process anonymous device identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID / AAID) and non-personalized diagnostic signals to serve contextual ads and prevent fraud.

B. Open-Meteo Weather API

Weather telemetry is retrieved via anonymous geographic coordinates over encrypted HTTPS. Open-Meteo does not log personal identities, IP associations, or user profiles.

We implement industry-standard technical measures to safeguard your experience:

• Strict TLS / HTTPS Encryption: All network communication is enforced through secure, encrypted protocols (usesCleartextTraffic="false").
• Backup Restriction: Application backup is restricted (allowBackup="false") to prevent third-party extraction of local preferences.
• No Central Database: Because we do not maintain a user database, there are zero remote credentials or user profiles vulnerable to server data breaches.

AirClock is a general-audience utility suitable for all ages (PEGI 3 / ESRB Everyone). We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). • Right to Opt-Out of Personalized Ads: You can reset or opt out of personalized ad tracking anytime via your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads → Delete / Reset Advertising ID).
